AeroAdmin Complete Review, Remote Desktop / Free Access Program

AeroAdmin is a portable and completely free remote connection program for Windows. Unlike many other remote desktop tools, there is no charge for commercial or personal use. Although AeroAdmin has no chat capabilities, it is small in size and can be launched in less than a minute; this is perfect for remote desktop programs. Continue reading to list advantages and disadvantages, how AeroAdmin works at a glance and what I think about this program.

Note: This review is from AeroAdmin version 4.6 released on November 9, 2018. Please let me know if there is a newer version to review.

How AeroAdmin Works

The AeroAdmin program is fully portable, ie no installation and can be saved on a portable drive. AeroAdmin displays the ID number each time it is turned on. This number is what must be shared so that others can connect to the computer. This number is static, so it doesn't change from time to time. You can also use your IP address, not your identity. The client computer must enter the host ID to establish a connection.

When the client attempts to establish a connection for the first time, the host must enable access rights such as screen display, keyboard and mouse control, file transfer, and dashboard synchronization. The host may grant or cancel these rights. At this point, the host can register the access rights option, so if the same customer tries to connect, no confirmation is shown and no setting must be accepted for the connection. This is a way of managing unattended access.

Before connecting to the host client, there are three connection options: Remote control, view only and File manager. Know that you cannot switch to another after entering with any connection type. For example, if you set up a screen connection only, you must exit and reconnect to select full control.

My thoughts on AeroAdmin

I appreciate how easy it is to use AeroAdmin. Basically, there is no necessary option to start a remote session. To connect the computer, simply start the program and enter the host ID number. I love how easy it is to use the file transfer guide. When remote users don't see you transferring files back and forth, they don't see the progress bar. On the other hand, the sender and the recipient of the file will have full control over the transfer, view the progress and cancel at any time.

Although you cannot chat during a remote desktop session, it is perfect for full remote control sessions or simple file transfers as soon as you have to connect to a remote computer. Because program files are smaller than 2 MB, both customers and host users can be downloaded and started as soon as possible. I don't like switching between the display and full control mode during a remote session, but it's not really a big problem because you can disconnect and select another connection type that only takes a minute.
