When you Want to Connect Remotely to the Machine :

  1. In the upper left-hand Apple menu, go to System Preferences.
  2. In the Internet and Wireless group, click Share.

  4. Place a check mark next to Display Sharing on the left
  5. Press the Settings menu button ... on the right.

  7. Click OK.
  8. "Allow user access rights: and make sure this is set only for this user only". Press the Add menu button under the list section.
  9. Select your name (or the name of the user account you are using) from the list and click the Select button. If you also want to enable file sharing, check the box next to File Share on the left.
  10. By default, each Mac OS user account receives a public folder. Verify that your user account (or user account you are using) has access to the Read and Write option in this folder.
  11. One thing you should bring: note the IP address of the computer. The screen will be written as "vnc:" and "afp:" from the Share File before sharing. You will need it to connect from a remote computer. If desired, click the button at the bottom left to avoid further changes.

You Will be Connected Remotely on Your Machine :

  1. Make sure you're in the Finder (say masa Finder 'next to the apple icon in the upper left. To open the Finder, click Command + Tab to open it or to open the Finder.
  2. From the Go to menu, select Connect to Server.
  3. In Server Address, type the IP address of the remote computer that comes with "vnc:" as it appears on the screen share above.
  4. Clicking the Connect button will open the remote desktop in a new window. You control the keyboard and the mouse as if you were sitting on that computer.
  5. Close the window when you're done.
  6. To access the files and folders on the remote computer, select Open Folder from the Open menu.
  7. Type the IP address of the computer you want to connect to in "afp:" as it appears in the File Sharing section above.
  8. When you click Go, the folder you access on the remote computer will open in the new Finder window.
  9. Close the window when you're done.
